Privacy Policy

Last Updated August 6th, 2017

Parrable is a technology company. We offer a technology platform that enables advertisers, publishers and their technology partners (our “Clients”) to maintain state on computers and mobile devices. In other words, we help our Clients identify when they are seeing the same computers and mobile devices over time to customize content and advertising, and perform analytics. This privacy policy covers our website located at www.parrable.com (the “Website”) as well as our proprietary technology platform (the “Platform”).

Parrable is a member of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”), which is a cooperative of online marketing and analytics companies committed to building consumer awareness and establishing responsible business and data management practices and standards. Parrable complies with the NAI Codes of Conduct and the cross-industry Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising as managed by the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”).

Information Collected via the Platform

The Platform is designed to help advertisers, publishers and their technology partners (our “Clients") maintain state on computers and mobile devices. The Platform assigns a unique pseudonymous identifier associated with an Internet browser (our “Browser ID”) whenever our technology encounters a web browser on a computer or mobile device. We store this Browser ID in the cache of the browser being used by a particular computer or device.

The Browser ID does not help us identify you individually. It helps us identify your browser so that when our systems encounter that browser again, our Clients will be able to target advertising and content to your interests and to better understand the effectiveness of their digital advertising campaigns. In addition to creating the Browser ID, our Platform collects non-personally identifiable information, including IP address, mobile advertising identifier (e.g., IDFA or Android ad ID), the time/date a computer or device was seen, and the domain name of the website on which the Browser ID was placed or seen.

Our Platform also creates a second pseudonymous ID, the Parrable device ID (our “Device ID), which is stored along with the Browser ID in the cache of the browser. Our Platform may associate a Device ID with the mobile advertising identifier for that device. Both the Browser ID and the Device ID are encrypted and re-encrypted every time our systems are able to see your device (e.g., when you visit a website where our technology is enabled) to help ensure that no one has access to our identifiers without approval from Parrable. Parrable does not transfer data about your computer or device except the Browser ID, the Device ID, the mobile advertising identifier and one or more opt-out flags for users that have expressed an opt-out choice. If you’d like to exercise your opt-out choice, you may do so through the information provided below.

Our Platform may use HTTP cookies to store the Browser ID and Device ID. Cookies are small text files placed onto your browser. For more information about cookies and web beacons, please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org/cookies.

How Parrable utilizes Information Collected via the Platform

Parrable only uses the information collected via the Platform to generate aggregate statistics and to operate and optimize the Platform. Parrable does not create or utilize profiles for ad targeting or content customization.

If the company is made aware that it has received PII from someone under 13 it will use reasonable efforts to remove that information from its records.

Data Retention.

The Parrable technology Platform retains information for less than a year from the last time the Browser ID or Device ID was seen. Parrable stores PII collected via the Website for a reasonable time for record keeping purposes.

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties, Onward Transfer.

Parrable does not rent, sell or share your PII collected via the Website with non-affiliated third parties without your consent. Our Platform is designed to share information (not including PII) with our Clients for the purpose of enabling their use of the Browser ID. The company may also share information collected via the Platform and the Website with trusted third-party partners. These third-party contractors are prohibited from using the information for purposes other than performing services for Parrable. Parrable may share aggregate data collected on the Website or via our technology Platform with unaffiliated third parties without restriction.

Parrable may disclose your information to third parties when obligated to do so by law and in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected, or actual prohibited activities, including but not limited to fraud and situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person.

Finally, Parrable may transfer information, including any PII, to a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or other corporate change. If Parrable is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Website of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your PII.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is subject to change. If the company plans to make any material or substantive changes in the way it uses the PII collected through this Website, it will post a clear and conspicuous notice on the Website and in this privacy policy prior to the changes being made.
